  • Lot #821 - 1796 NGC VF-25
  • Dimes-Draped Bust
  • JR-6, R.3. A small break crosses over "7" in the date, next to a radial crack that projects upward along the left side of "9", and these are joined by additional cracks, especially radial cracks in the upper left obverse. Sharpness may slightly exceed VF-25 yet most likely, NGC settled on a five point demerit due to old, modest cleaning that now shows as trivial gloss across the surface. Fortunately, old toning and dirt remain within protected areas. A small, curiously machine-like abrasion shows to the right of the final star.

  • Lot #817 - 1889 NGC MS-66

  • Clem Stevens Collection. Astoundingly free from contact, the crystal-bright surface suggests an even higher grade overall, as does a very bold strike. While many 1889s are tough to distinguish from proof strikings, there is no doubt at all about the circulation status of this completely satin-laden beauty.

  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
