Zee's Densities Collection. Impairments place a damper on this 3-dollar duo, but how often does one find an auction lot with two certified examples? Included are: 1854 (delicate hairlines subtly traverse the lower portrait, erasing a few contact marks), and 1874 (glittering brightly as is typical of previously edge-mounted examples). Lot #333 - 1852-D Rotated Dies PCGS AU-55

Misaligned dies are common to the 1852-D, this one struck practically in medallic alignment. Overall, this also appears to be a decently struck example, albeit the dies came together on the usual substandard planchet that seems to have plagued Dahlonega. Lemon-gold hue and clashing and die-cracks meet expectations for this issue.
