Overall even patina and virtually unsullied quality serve to emphasize an utterly exceptional strike. Morals And Liberty Collection. Kagin-3 (R.6). Formed in New York City, the firm of Norris, Gregg & Norris moved west to San Francisco following the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill. They struck a five-dollar coin in Benicia City, a suburb of San Francisco, and these very rare coins are avidly sought by collectors today. NGC grades this reddish-gold five as MS-61, likely reflecting in part a rather weak strike as well as delicately hairlined fields.
