  • Lot #400 - 1842-D Large Date ANACS AU-53 details/cleaned
  • Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
  • Large date, large letters. 1842-D wrangles with 1861-D as a contender for the rarest Dahlonega half-eagle, and a high-grade survivor of any description will be in demand by astute collectors. ANACS claims this AU sharpness example to be cleaned, and indeed, glossy lemon-yellow shows across both sides, accompanied by obvious hairlines in the obverse lower right field. Perhaps as important as anything, the surface actually displays a lot fewer abrasions than typical for a southern mint gold coin.

  • Lot #760 - 1882 PCGS PR-64
  • Hammer: $815
  • Quarter Dollars-Liberty Seated
  • Dino-Mite Collection. Aesthetic appeal tends to exceed the assigned PR-64 grade as some charming cobalt-orange and sherbet hues drape inward from the rims. Twin pairs of delicate, old pinscratches are nearly faded into the patina on the reverse far right.
