Lot #653 - 1880/79-CC Reverse of 1878 PCGS MS-64 CAC
Silver Dollar-Morgan
VAM-4 properly designates that the reverse is in the style of 1878 with feathers running parallel to the arrow shaft. While not truly fully struck, this gleaming Arctic-white example features superior sharpness as well as a deft touch of cameo effect despite fully lustrous fields. The reverse may grade gem all by itself while delicate abrasions visit the cheek and obverse left field to help determine grade.

Considerable wear has erased all but the first and last letters of LIBERTY on the shield -- practically the very definition of VG-8 for a Seated Liberty dollar. Powdery grey toning predominates while the reverse shows a couple of generally minor carbon spots.
