Silver Dollar-Draped Bust
Bolender-8, BB-165, R.3, one of the die-marriages for the series that had exclusive use of both the obverse and reverse dies. "N" in UNITED was originally punched in upside-down and subsequently corrected, this earlier die-state coin retaining remnants of an errant serif between "NI". Nicer patina visits this smooth and honestly worn example, for which there are no sudden or unexpected abrasions.

Half Dollars-Flowing Hair
Overton-125, R.4. Curiously spattered in linear waves of gunmetal grey and aluminum hues on the obverse, while the reverse features a more consistent and even pattern of coral-grey. Sparse traces of luster can still be found on the reverse with ease, interacting with protected areas of the wreath, while the obverse shows virtually no luster at all. Struck off of clashed dies yet certainly sharply detailed.

The gemstone is copper and manganese bearing which may be called “Paraiba” in the trade and has a beautiful electric greenish-blue color. Length 18”, 1.1 dwt.
