  • Lot #918 - 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-64RD
  • Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
  • Bucky The Badger Consignment. Coppery champagne-orange offers slightly matte texture, especially on the reverse where the aspect could easily be mistaken for a matte-proof striking. The reverse falls half a shade closer to the orange hue for which 1909 cents of all kinds are known, this key also flaunting bold, sharp details from a nearly full strike. Perhaps a couple of microscopic carbon flecks on the reverse could be mentioned, but otherwise, the surface remains cheerfully free from distractions.

  • Lot #755 - 1842-O Small Date PCGS VF-30
  • Hammer: $2,700
  • Quarter Dollars-Liberty Seated
  • Briggs 1-A. 13 graded VF-30, 15 higher at PCGS. Listed in the Redbook, the "small date" is one of the most difficult of all Seated Liberty quarters, and struck early in the series such that virtually all are circulated. This nearly ebony, grey-toned example displays a faint hint of rose hue within the fields, contrasting with neutral grey on the devices. Remnants of grungy deposits occasion the reverse periphery.
