  • Lot #400 - 1842-D Large Date ANACS AU-53 details/cleaned
  • Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
  • Large date, large letters. 1842-D wrangles with 1861-D as a contender for the rarest Dahlonega half-eagle, and a high-grade survivor of any description will be in demand by astute collectors. ANACS claims this AU sharpness example to be cleaned, and indeed, glossy lemon-yellow shows across both sides, accompanied by obvious hairlines in the obverse lower right field. Perhaps as important as anything, the surface actually displays a lot fewer abrasions than typical for a southern mint gold coin.

  • Lot #792 - 1927 NGC MS-66 FB
  • Hammer: $625
  • Dimes-Mercury
  • 40 graded MS-66 FB, 12 higher at NGC. Very common as a date but found infrequently above the gem level with such a nice strike. This particular 1927 adds in the flair of gold and russet-silver hues as well as astonishing mint luster for your enjoyment.
