Gold Dollars-Indian Princess Head, Large Head
Mintage: 7500. 2 graded MS-67+. 3 higher at NGC. Low mintages don't typically grant large quantities of high-grade survivors, but the low mintage run of gold dollars seem to have been saved in unusually high quantities. Here is a borderline outrageous coin that could challenge the appeal of many well-preserved proof examples as both sides display exquisite sharpness and obvious cameo contrast. Apparently a bit of a later striking, orange peel effect has begun to develop within the hair, while continued thorough examination finds two microscopic abrasions right of "1" in the denomination.

Robert Michaels Collection. Excellent luster beams out of the satin-laden fields, which themselves are free from abrasions. A single linear mark at the middle of Liberty's neck seems to be the only visible contact mark.
