Half Dollars-Barber
101st Airborne Collection. Better grades apply for this group of Barber half-dollar that includes an interesting specimen. Included with CATALOGER GRADE ESTIMATES are: 1902 (VF+, attractive smoky-grey and olive overtones but a small rim bump at 10:00), 1907-O (AU, slate-grey and dove toning a little streaky; this appears to be a "mumps" variety as described in a recent Barber Collectors Society journal, showing a raised area on the cheek), and 1908-S (VF, a bit low-key beneath a blanket of opaque greyish-tan patina). Three coin lot.

Dimes-Capped Bust
JR-1, 1827/7 and often incorrectly referenced as "1827/5". These appear to be early dies, lacking any evidence of clashmarks, nor had any die breaks formed yet on the reverse when this dime was struck. Dynamic, jewel-like luster blows up the obverse eye-appeal but this is quickly offset by isolated surface damage "OF A" on the reverse.
