  • Lot #323 - 1840-C PCGS F-12
  • Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
  • Mintage: 12,822. The inaugural, low-mintage quarter-eagle emission for Charlotte gets nicely circulated representation by a smooth, delightful mustard-gold example. Only major details emerge as expected of plentiful circulation and subtle sliding abrasions appear on the portrait.

  • Lot #871 - 1909-S VDB Lincoln PCGS MS-64RB CAC
  • Hammer: $2,900
  • Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
  • Growth Collection. There was a phase about ten years ago when MS-64 RB was considered "best" for the 1909-S VDB in terms of bang for the buck, and perhaps that holds true today. This example certainly seems on the verge of a red designation as either side gleams with 85% of the vintage brick-orange hue. Interestingly, this key cent was possibly struck off of a very slightly clipped planchet, since what appears to be a trio of tiny rim dings at first glance prove, upon closer inspection, to be almost certainly as-struck. An exceptionally detailed Lincoln cent with virtually no disturbances that would meaningfully preclude higher grade consideration.
