Benjamin J. Collection. Beautifully choice and showing decorous hints of peripheral toning, the obverse faces up primarily as brilliant white while a fragile layer of aluminum-grey hugs the reverse. Very faint abrading of the cheek and trivial wispy surface grazes on the reverse seem to be the only factors accounting for the grade.

Mild friction in the fields indicates light wear overall, while protected areas retain ample energy. Even at arm's length, both sides revolve nicely with cartwheel effect, especially the reverse. While 1890-CC frequently comes heavily abraded, this appears to be a nicer, less noisy example that does nothing but please the eye at the AU-50 grade.
