Lightly tanned surfaces give this uncut sheet of (12) 1928-G $2 Legal Tender notes a truly organic and original look. This particular series (EA Block) is rarely seen in uncut sheet form and is truly deserving of the Choice About UNC 58 grade given by PMG. Nice centering and a very minor tear are noted (ck).

Doctor Drew Collection. Sheldon-24 "apple cheek", a common die-marriage that always shows light die rust from the bottom of the neck into the date area. Cataloger's grade: [XF-40] takes into account the late die state V, for which a radial die crack crosses over "L" in LIBERTY. Marvelous Hershey-brown adorns the entire surface, yielding to only the slightest ashy texture on the high points, especially the highly rounded cheek evoked by the "apple cheek" nickname. Shallow detail at ENT on the reverse is characteristic of the die state and not due to circulation. Not known to many collectors is that Sheldon's father created the name for S-24.
