  • Lot #757 - 1834 Large Date, Large Letters O-120 ANACS AU details/cleaned
  • Hammer: $425
  • Half Dollars-Capped Bust, Lettered Edge
  • Cheddars de Voirs Collection. Overton-102 has "50 C" leaning well to the left on the reverse. Pleasing details and luster in the AU-55 range are offset by the rather obvious presence of crisscrossing hairlines in the obverse and reverse fields, though pale almond-tan has begun to develop, perhaps by inclusion within the slab.

  • Lot #541 - 1906-D PCGS MS-63
  • Hammer: $3,600
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Denver began minting operations in 1906 with double-eagles a part of their inaugural emissions. Perhaps in anticipation of starting out on the right foot, these are typically well produced by the mint, and like this choice example, most display splendid silken luster that shimmers with dazzling vibrancy. Precise details endow both sides and the reverse seems particularly well preserved, falling closer to MS-64 than the obverse.
