Large Cents-Classic Head
Sheldon-281, no clash marks and thus suggestive of an earlier strike. This Sheldon variety always seems to come a little softly struck yet the headband shows plainly and most definition within the strands of hair are nicely rendered. PCGS states "cleaned" but a more thorough inspection suggests that corrosion has been relieved from the surface, the whole coin later recolored nicely and nearly to the state of an original piece.

Jaw-dropping luster and a fairly accurate strike beg for the gem grade level, staved off by delicate scattered abrasions. A couple of obverse stars are not quite fully formed but the ear of corn shows most intended details.

From the Atlas collection, this classic Tiffany and Co. narrow band features Roman numerals inlaid into a 4mm band with a small gold border with a matte finish in between. Ring size 9, 2.9 dwt.
