Small Cents-Indian Head
No L on ribbon. Certainly more red than brown, scattered mulberry-olive on numerous obverse highpoint details explains the correct color designation, even while the reverse deserves a full "red" disclaimer all on its own. Perhaps a couple of generally nonintrusive, squiggly abrasions on the portrait limit the grade but superior luster and uncommonly lovely coppery hue bear out the gem grade.

At first glance, the quality seems much superior to MS-62, and even careful scrutiny will find only the most trivial abrasions, about the size of flea specks. MS-64 almost seems like a possibility until one discovers light hairlines erratically scattered within the fields, albeit they are clearly toned down by the attractive yellow-gold color. Almost fully struck and showing a nice, sharp "D" mintmark on the reverse.
