When is a mule a bison? As you ponder that question, take notice of backplate 322 for this bone-grey note that appears a little undergraded at first glance. The graders may have netted a few points off due to a brief tear that enters the design at far left (not mentioned) as well as "minor glue" mentioned on the holder.

1 graded MS-66+, 1 higher at NGC, making this dime a contender for the second finest known. That moniker fits as both sides shine with profound frosted white luster, aside from brief areas of orange rim toning. The reverse appears to be flawless, aside from a modestly deficient strike off of a failing die, while the obverse shows a tiny hairline abrasion in the upper right field.

Circa 1960/1970, this overly large sterling silver (tested, not marked) and chrysocolla squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and a 7-stone Naja at the bottom. With an overly bold design, the stone used in the making emulates a darker grade of turquoise than usually found in this type of necklace. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 26”, 8.40 troy ounces.
