Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
Mintage: 10,220. Overall reasonably appealing given the mint of origin, close perusal with a loupe reveals slightly glossy character and light wear above Liberty's brow, over the curls and on the highpoints of the eagle's wings. This example of the rare 1849-C sees some circulation abrasions at the lower portrait, while the reverse essentially avoids mentionable contact. The strike appears typically weak on the eagle's left (observed) leg and the feathers immediately surrounding the shield.
