Silver Dollar-Peace
Despite considerable almond-orange toning across both sides, this high-relief dollar exhibits unusually prosperous luster for a coin that didn't quite meet gem expectations at NGC. Ex-Olathe Dollar Hoard from U.S. Treasury Bags. Blatantly original, the upper left half of obverse shows faint yellow-beige hue that deepens significantly toward the lower right. Perhaps remarkable for what it is not, this particularly 1881-S lacks absolute perfection of strike at the exact centers, yet the usual ravishing semi-prooflike luster prevails.
