  • Lot #591 - 1799 PCGS VF-25
  • Hammer: $2,250
  • Silver Dollar-Draped Bust
  • Bolender-8, BB-165, R.3, one of the die-marriages for the series that had exclusive use of both the obverse and reverse dies. "N" in UNITED was originally punched in upside-down and subsequently corrected, this earlier die-state coin retaining remnants of an errant serif between "NI". Nicer patina visits this smooth and honestly worn example, for which there are no sudden or unexpected abrasions.

  • Hammer: $4,000
  • World Coins-Peru
  • Mastodon Collection. KM#50, Lima mint, 0.798 oz. The intricate obverse design appears to be nicely rendered despite a few points of circulation while cartwheel energy still shimmers through the peripheral elements. Honestly circulated and highly appealing.
