  • Lot #302 - 1873 50C octagonal BG-942 PCGS MS-64 (green label)
  • Hammer: $550
  • California Fractional Gold-California Fractional Gold
  • Cheddars de Voirs Collection. BG-942 (R.5-) and significantly prooflike although at the time PCGS certified this example, they virtually never used such a designation except, of course, for Morgan dollars. Struck in San Francisco by Christopher Ferdinand Mohrig who used a rather decent rendition of an American Indian in headdress against a rather plain yet strongly rendered wreath on the reverse.

  • Lot #660 - 1890-CC PCGS MS-63+
  • Hammer: $1,450
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • VAM-7, with a doubled mintmark "inside" per the VAM guide. Typical bag abrasions on the cheek limit the grade, but very few intrusions visit the field. And with luster to spare, this more difficult Carson City will find many suitors in the audience. An especially original and pleasing silver dollar for the grade.
