Alluring corn-gold hue completely dominates the appeal of either side, and the strike could scarcely be sharper even for a 1904 example. Remarkably free from abrasions although some lighting angles reveal faint haze on either side.

Bowers lists this misplaced date but it is seldom referenced elsewhere, which is too bad given how prominent the digits are within the denticles. They are especially visible on such a nice, high-grade example of this Civil War survivor. Neither side would truly pass as UNC under close inspection, but the amount of wear is paper-thin and the coin overall exhibits attractive golden color with pinkish lowlights.
