Quarter Dollars-Standing Liberty
101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. 64 graded AU-50, 81 higher at PCGS. Even wear takes away from what were probably slightly flashing surfaces when struck. The large date logotype is the more common of the two subvarieties for 1850, but either way, 1850 is a better early date within the series.
