Lot #537 - 1907 High Relief-Wire Rim PCGS UNC details/edge damaged
Gold $20-Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle
Faint rub suggests a borderline AU-58/MS-60 grade but without diminishing incredible detailing in the slightest. The wire edge rim typically sees less effects from contact than so-called "knife edge" examples but perhaps improper storage led to undue abrading of the edge of this all-time favorite.

The landscape is dominated by shades of purples and blues with mild traces of goldenrods and reds mixed in. Recovered from the sunken Spanish galleon, the Santa Margarita this 8 Reale coin of Philip III is set into a 14K and sterling silver bezel. The bezel features a scene of a dolphin and a patch of seaweed. This does come with a certificate of authenticity from Mel Fishers’s Treasures, LLC. with a grade of four.
