  • Lot #797 - 1821 PCGS XF-40
  • Hammer: $925
  • Quarter Dollars-Capped Bust
  • Browning-3, die-state II with the obvious heavy die crack through the twelfth star as well as an arrowhead nicely clashed below the eight star. For an example likely conserved somewhere along the way, this is a memorably attractive coin with thick moss-grey and powdery turquoise-jade throughout the obverse, while the reverse shows a heavier blanket of ebony-grey. Both sides are rather uncommonly free from contact marks, given twenty points of circulation.

  • Lot #289 - Elephant halfpenny token Lon Don PCGS VF-20
  • Hammer: $1,500
  • Colonial Issues-Elephant Tokens
  • Land And Home Collection. Hodder 2-D, Breen-190, R.6+. The "Godless" LON DON variety is much scarcer than the more often encountered GOD PRESERVE LONDON varieties. The surface of this wallet-brown example has a somewhat dry appearance but has no curious discolorations. Several tiny, curious pockmarks dot the elephant side, while the reverse shows no unexpected contact.
