Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
A stately example from the end of the Civil War, the surface glows with soft radiance impaired by only a whisper of abrading within all fields. Brighter golden-yellow surfaces manage to evade major contact marks -- not all that common for large gold coins of this vintage. Sharply struck off of dies showing a light clash on Liberty's central portrait.

Intriguing apricot-gold color melts over most of the surface, offset by a broad, curious aqua-blue lozenge at lower right. Trivia hairlines within the fields must be searched for.
