During the Civil War, paper was a scarcely found source in the Confederate south. As such, any paper documents from this time period and geographic location are very hard to find and rarely see the open market. Two such pieces known as “Confederate Certificates” makes up this scarcely seen lot that includes a $1,000 and an even scarcer $100,000 cert. From Tiffany’s Black Box Collection, here’s a custom made 14K yellow gold and black onyx tie tack/tie pin. In a circular design, the original clutch is also present. Inscribed jewelers mark of 46111. Somewhere in the Tiffany Archives, the company knows exactly who this piece was designed for and when it was made. Cool thought! This piece comes with the orginal box. Excellent condition.
