A tremendous trio of difficult to find early United States proof sets that are each still securely housed in their original government packaging. Included in this run is a 1938, a 1940, and 1941 proof set that all offer above average grades and eye appeal. Each of these sets is still wrapped up in mint tissue and are still in their unbroken cellophane holders. 19 graded MS-67, 1 graded MS-67+, zero higher at NGC. Borderline sensational, the obverse offers blatant semi-prooflike cameo appeal while the reverse sees only a hint of the same flashing energy. Astute examination will reveal faded hints of a clashed die which required lapping, and that explains the plethora of die polish in the fields as well as the lightly mirrored effect. Astounding!
