Lot #873 - 1803 100/000 PCGS VF-25
Large Cents-Draped Bust
Sheldon-249, 100/000 fraction, and apparently die state II with the "mumps" die defect attached to Liberty's jaw. From a commercial standpoint, sharpness may be slightly better than VF-25, this offset by a rather generous helping of small circulation marks strewn across the obverse. Decent eye appeal unfolds on both sides due to much nicer powder-chocolate patina that shows remarkably few distractions other than those abrasions.

Gold Dollars-Liberty Head
The luster is not flashy as is sometimes seen for 1849-O, but more rustic and endowed with yellowish cast. Struck to typical sharpness for the date, the reverse denies completeness at the center of "1849". Nicely smooth and abrasion-free.
