Incredible crystal-gold luster overwhelms the senses and would qualify this coin for gem status if not for a handful of sharp nicks below and near Liberty's eye. A blatantly gorgeous coin that looks like it's been plugged into a 12 volt car battery.

Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
Breezy L Collection. Mintage: 30,000. While not a key to the New Orleans emissions, 1857-O represents a somewhat more difficult date and one often found problematic. PCGS calls out minor scratches on both sides, which would almost certainly be forgivable if they did appear surprisingly fresh, or if, for example, one or two off right of the portrait had not been imparted. A little glossy overall but by no means an unacceptable representative for a collector.
