  • Lot #414 - 1879-S NGC MS-64
  • Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
  • 7 graded MS-64, which ties for highest graded at NGC. PCGS suggests five coins grade higher in their population report. Technically, 1879-S is not a scarce date but obviously, the set collector will be hard-pressed to locate a stronger candidate for a registry. Overall light hairlining limits the grade.

  • Lot #786 - Complete collection of Mercury dimes in an album
  • Hammer: $800
  • Dimes-Mercury
  • Super Thompson Collection. Every example is present and accounted for regarding this complete album collection of Mercury dimes. Circulated examples ranging from About Good through Almost Uncirculated are noticed with the majority of the issues leaning towards the lower portions of the scale. Included in this set is a 1916-D SEGS AG-03, a 1921 (GD, damaged), and a 1921-D (GD, cleaned). This could be a great set for the Mercury dime enthusiast on a working man’s budget (ck).
