101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Grand National Collection. L&M-77A, KM#329.6, fine hair portrait. Modestly lustrous and showing very little actual wear, although friction hairlines flutter into sight here and there under a good lamp. Reddish-blonde patina dominates the obverse, relieved in areas by pale grey splashes, while the reverse shows a nicer ebony-crimson crescent of toning along the upper left.
