Included in this run is a 1938, a 1940, and 1941 proof set that all offer above average grades and eye appeal. Each of these sets is still wrapped up in mint tissue and are still in their unbroken cellophane holders. The 1885 is one of those key dates that seems highly available in low grades (think AG to VG), locatable in high grade (Choice BU and up), but about impossible to find in grades between those two extremes. There is a 6.29 ct. oval heat-treated Thai sapphire measuring 11.3x9.97x6.51mm in the center of a flowery halo with a radiating royal blue color that is highlighted perfectly with 11 round brilliant diamonds weighing an estimated 1.20 cttw, VS clarity, I color. The ring is marked 90% on the inside and holds up to the 18K acid test. Ring size 6.5, 5.3 dwt.
