More available than the "large date" logotype but still hardly common given the mintage of under 60-thousand pieces. The pale, lackluster surface displays a thin coating of haze that helps subdue any potential remaining luster. Strike quality seems to be about as nice as is ever seen for 1842-D.

16 graded PR-65 CAM, 1 graded PR-65 CAM "star", 41 higher at NGC. Frothy motifs also show swirling die polish lines that blend in nicely with overall texture. Intriguing apricot-gold color melts over most of the surface, offset by a broad, curious aqua-blue lozenge at lower right. Trivia hairlines within the fields must be searched for.

This vintage style band has three round brilliant diamonds weighing approximately .30 cttw, SI clarity, I-J color with small single cut side diamond accents. There are cute as can be bow decals on either side. Ring size 6.25, 3.0 dwt.
