Either side shows average definition and collectively surprisingly few bagmarks for the choice level, although one small copper spot lands below the date. Scott Laiter Collection. Although thousands of 1891-CC tens exist today in certified mint-state grade (out of a mintage of over 100-thousand pieces), the date remains very popular with collectors and has shown little sign of price softness in current markets. Here is a rock-solid MS-62 example that triumphs with booming luster and a sharp, near-complete strike. Quality gets marred only by a fair number of the minute abrasions typical of the grade, but not a'one requires special mention.
