  •
  • Lot #414 - 1879-S NGC MS-64
  • Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
  • 7 graded MS-64, which ties for highest graded at NGC. PCGS suggests five coins grade higher in their population report. Technically, 1879-S is not a scarce date but obviously, the set collector will be hard-pressed to locate a stronger candidate for a registry. Overall light hairlining limits the grade.

  • Whether you are a collector that appreciates VAM varieties, toners, or flat-out attractive Morgan silver dollars, this is a group lot that is sure to please. All four of these “soapbox” style ANACS examples are desirable issues that includes the following: an 1878 7/8TF VAM-34 Planchet Streak Obverse MS-63, an 1883 MS-64, an 1883-O MS-63, and an 1898 MS-63. Each of these would make a nice addition to any collection of early ANACS coins (ck).
