  • Lot #413 - 1873-S NGC AU-53
  • Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
  • Cheddars de Voirs Collection. 16 graded AU-53, 29 higher at NGC. In a down year for gold, like 1873, San Francisco struck only 31-thousand half-eagles, accounting for a low number of high-grade survivors. The casually worn surface here shows a few more tiny marks than typical, but ample luster brings the grade near the choice level. Attractive, subtle steely green and khaki-gold predominate.

  • Lot #877 - 1794 PCGS VG-10 CAC
  • Hammer: $1,400
  • Half Cents-Liberty Cap, Head Facing Right
  • Land And Home Collection. Cohen-9 but the edge cannot be seen due to the old PCGS slab insert. A die crack enters the Liberty cap near 9:00 on the obverse and suggests the coin was struck between die states 1.0 and 2.0. An exquisite surface possesses slightly glossy Hershey patina form edge to edge, and bold details on the obverse. HALF CENT on the reverse has been mostly effaced by good, honest wear.

  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
