Gold $20-Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle
Faint rub suggests a borderline AU-58/MS-60 grade but without diminishing incredible detailing in the slightest. The wire edge rim typically sees less effects from contact than so-called "knife edge" examples but perhaps improper storage led to undue abrading of the edge of this all-time favorite.

A very thin top margin seems common to these Philadelphia battleship notes, though not so common is the practically "new" appearance of this pleasing example. As flattened within the holder, it is virtually impossible to see the center crease that places the note perfectly into the AU50 grade level.
