  • Lot #895 - 1856 Flying Eagle PCGS AU details/plugged
  • Small Cents-Flying Eagle
  • Benjamin J. Collection. Sharply detailed without question, close examination reveals nearly complete feathers across the eagle's entire motif, as well as exceptionally intricate details within both stems of the wreath. Alas, there is no avoiding the visual effect of dark surfaces with myriad tiny planchet voids, as well as the plug at OF. Details at 11:30 of the reverse have been replaced with very good skill while the obverse still shows a plain outline of the plug repair.

  • Lot #587 - 1872 Blundered Date Breen-5491 NGC MS-62
  • Hammer: $2,300
  • Silver Dollar-Liberty Seated
  • Breen-5491, Osburn-Cushing-3, blundered date obverse. A tiny remnant of a blundered digit shows immediately above "2" in the date, quickly denoting what is a rather common yet highly popular variety within the series. This happens to be a handsome example as well at just MS-62, exhibiting gorgeous luster and apricot-grey patina. The reverse all by itself might well grade MS-64 but random, trivial abrasions on the obverse spill over just enough to limit the grade.

  • Lot #308 - Native American Unsigned Squash Blossom
  • Hammer: $320
  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this overly large sterling silver (tested, not marked) and chrysocolla squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and a 7-stone Naja at the bottom. With an overly bold design, the stone used in the making emulates a darker grade of turquoise than usually found in this type of necklace. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 26”, 8.40 troy ounces.
