Each has a distinctive appearance, beginning with a brilliant example nearing prooflike character. Next is a fully lustrous cloud-white example with a trivial spot on the reverse. Finally, a third example features noticeable but faint rim toning on both sides. Three coin lot.

Scott Laiter Collection. 41 graded MS-61, 37 higher at NGC. While more available as a date within the series, 1868 is at least not one of the truly common emissions. Without aid of a loupe, MS-61 almost seems too low given the lovely semi-flashy luster often seen for the date. Traces of lavender-gold show on both sides.
