Silver Dollar-Draped Bust
Swap Deterred Collection. Bolender-4, BB-61, small date, large letters, easily attributed by noticing the dotted "1" in the date. Taking into account heavy wear as well as substantial abrading across the surface ("polished"), we believe the coin was taken off of late die-state III dies. The surface may have been unfairly treated to help downplay a plug or void just left of the date.

Pale pewter-grey layers nice and even over the whole surface, accented on high relief areas by a smidge of butterscotch. Conforming with the assigned grade, neither side clings to any meaningful luster although persistent searching will find isolated areas of frosty flowline texture inside some peripheral letters. Virtually all of the eagle's feathers are individually sculpted while Liberty's hair still shows significant bold details. One of this key's best characteristics, especially for the amount of wear, is the lack of major abrasions.
