Lot #658 - Twenty 1881-S ANACS MS-64
Silver Dollar-Morgan
Nearly identical toning, surface quality, and consecutive serial numbers suggests that this twenty coin lot of ANACS certified 1881-S Morgan silver dollars was simply an original roll that was sent in as a lone submission. Each example was conservatively graded as MS-64 and resides in the older style “soap box” holder. This would be one of the coolest ways to own a roll of 1881-S Morgan dollars (ck)!

Mintage: 10,220. Overall reasonably appealing given the mint of origin, close perusal with a loupe reveals slightly glossy character and light wear above Liberty's brow, over the curls and on the highpoints of the eagle's wings. This example of the rare 1849-C sees some circulation abrasions at the lower portrait, while the reverse essentially avoids mentionable contact. The strike appears typically weak on the eagle's left (observed) leg and the feathers immediately surrounding the shield.
