Cris Lindy-Ping Collection. The Walking Liberty half-dollar series is among the most popularly collected and difficult to complete collections within United States numismatics. This only becomes ever more difficult when attempting to fill it out with collector grade issues. Time and effort were clearly put into the building of this particular Dansco album collection that is complete from 1916 through 1947. Half Dollars-Capped Bust, Lettered Edge
Overton-103, large 8. One of the more interesting die-marriages, this heavily die-clashed half-dollar actually represents early dies for O-103, as the O-103a die-state requires a crack down the center of the date, not found here. Darker toning envelops the surfaces, showing olive-violet, mulberry-grey and cobalt-orange undertones. Vibrant luster fills either side with excellent visual appeal and only limited contact marks on the cheek are worth looking for.
