Included are: 1879-O (very good strike over exquisite, white fine-textured matte frost surfaces), 1897-S (astounding windmill energy on pure-white mint frost), and 1904 (another very good strike but the cheek disturbed by a number of tiny bagmarks). Scott Laiter Collection. Mintage: 2000. 74 graded AU-58, 42 higher at NGC. Undoubtedly UNC in the days before certification, the fields radiate pleasing semi-flashy luster and ample, original carrot-orange hue that speaks to excellent preservation. Well struck details seem unperturbed by wear, the grade accounted for by finger friction affecting either side consistently and about equally. An utterly delightful example.
