Cochrane Gambit Consignment. Overton-119 (R.4), a somewhat better die-marriage for 1834, almost all examples seen, including this handsomely toned coin, will show softness within the broad juncture of the eagle's left (observed) wing and body. That said, it appears this dynamic coin received slightly above average details throughout. Circumspect examination finds a fair number of subtle hairlines in the obverse left and upper fields, suggesting an old wipe that leads to the cataloger's grade: [AU/cleaned]. That said, remaining details likely fall within AU-55 to MS-60 sharpness and the surface suffers unusually few abrasions.

The reverse die shows a small die crack yet the strike was still more than powerful enough to impart marvelous details and booming white mint luster. While zero marks require individual mention, in aggregate, there are enough tiny surface abrasions to preclude upgrade.
