  • Lot #839 - 1916-D Mercury CACG VG-10
  • Dimes-Mercury
  • Slightly pale yet seemingly fully original overall, the aluminum-grey surface gets a little bit of accenting from deeper greyish areas within the recesses. A strong rim encircles either side, and a few internal details emerge from the central areas, in particular with some evidence of vertical lines for the fasces.

  • Lot #392 - 1911-D Strong D PCGS MS-62
  • Hammer: $8,000
  • Gold $2.50-Indian Head Quarter Eagle
  • At first glance, the quality seems much superior to MS-62, and even careful scrutiny will find only the most trivial abrasions, about the size of flea specks. MS-64 almost seems like a possibility until one discovers light hairlines erratically scattered within the fields, albeit they are clearly toned down by the attractive yellow-gold color. Almost fully struck and showing a nice, sharp "D" mintmark on the reverse.

  • Lot #307 - Native American Unsigned Squash Blossom
  • Hammer: $425
  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
