Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
More available than the "large date" logotype but still hardly common given the mintage of under 60-thousand pieces. The pale, lackluster surface displays a thin coating of haze that helps subdue any potential remaining luster. Strike quality seems to be about as nice as is ever seen for 1842-D.

Robert Michaels Collection. Extremely bright and aluminum-white, the 1862 appears almost cameo on the reverse, the entire surface absolutely blazing with mark-free appeal. The 1865 displays a number of tiny greyish dots on either side which may help determine the grade. Two coin lot.

The main focal point of the bangle is an approximate .50 ct. round cut diamond, I1 clarity, I-J color and four approximate .03 ct. bezel set accent diamonds. Dimensions 2.75” x 2.5”, 10.4 dwt.
