Gold $2.50-Indian Head Quarter Eagle
Far and away the scarcest Indian quarter-eagle, the 1911-D gets additional respect when a grading service provides the "strong D" moniker. The mintmark seen here cannot be mistaken at all, being readily visible without the aid of a loupe. Terrific for MS-62, this well struck coin practically glitters with faintly yellowed golden hue. A topnotch example at just about the most approachable quality grade for the date.

Clem Stevens Collection. Astoundingly free from contact, the crystal-bright surface suggests an even higher grade overall, as does a very bold strike. Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and a 6-stone Naja at the bottom. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 23”, 5.31 troy ounces.
