Graders undoubtedly considered the XF level for this broadly margined Chief. The note appears rather original and nicely toned, with the crisscross folds just a trifle to bold to permit upgrade.

Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
Breezy L Collection. Mintage: 30,000. While not a key to the New Orleans emissions, 1857-O represents a somewhat more difficult date and one often found problematic. PCGS calls out minor scratches on both sides, which would almost certainly be forgivable if they did appear surprisingly fresh, or if, for example, one or two off right of the portrait had not been imparted. A little glossy overall but by no means an unacceptable representative for a collector.
