  • Lot #298 - 1896 Aluminum 5C J-1772 CACG PR-64
  • Patterns-Patterns
  • Judd-1772, R.6+ and extremely rare in any state of preservation. It appears that perhaps as few as 40 unique grading events have occurred between the major services over the past forty years. Pollock lists four different aluminum alloys, but no metallurgical analysis has been indicated on the CAC slab. Extensive hairlines appear to represent die polish but the planchet allow shows some anomalies lower left of the shield and a small planchet flake far left on the reverse.

  • Lot #541 - 1906-D PCGS MS-63
  • Hammer: $3,600
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • Denver began minting operations in 1906 with double-eagles a part of their inaugural emissions. Perhaps in anticipation of starting out on the right foot, these are typically well produced by the mint, and like this choice example, most display splendid silken luster that shimmers with dazzling vibrancy. Precise details endow both sides and the reverse seems particularly well preserved, falling closer to MS-64 than the obverse.

  • Lot #110 - Santa Margarita 8 Reale Pendant
  • Hammer: $950
  • Jewelry-Pendants
  • Recovered from the sunken Spanish galleon, the Santa Margarita this 8 Reale coin of Philip III is set into a 14K and sterling silver bezel. The bezel features a scene of a dolphin and a patch of seaweed. This does come with a certificate of authenticity from Mel Fishers’s Treasures, LLC. with a grade of four.
